My most memorable moment of this summer was, when I made the Texas Stars. This is a select softball team from Gladewater, Texas. I tried out for the team around mid- July.
My first practice turned out to be a scrimmage. The team we played was 14 and under and we are only 12 and under so we knew we were going to get creamed! Surprisingly we did pretty well. We didn’t keep score, but you could tell it was close. That night I found out that one of my friends from White Oak was on the team.
Lucky for me my next practice was normal. I learned the five star drills, and few others which were confusing at first, but after a while I got it down. After about two practices we had our first tournament.
Our first tournament was in Dangerfield. Once most of us arrived we started to head to the field. Our first game was at 8 o’clock P.M… We were home for all four games, which was good for us because we got last bat, but we lost. The team we played was pretty good the score was 6 to 4 so it was close.
Our second game we won and we were home again, we found this crazy good luck charm as one of our teammates were up to bat we would scream “Spongebob Squarepants!”, just randomly and our teammate wouldn’t strike out, they would hit or get walked, getting walked isn’t good, but it’s better than getting out. We won out second game, but not by much. This game started at 10 o’clock P.M..
Our last game for the night was worst of all, this game started at 3o’clock A.M., the umpire was calling everything crazy and wrong as could be. He would call strikes balls, balls strikes, and foul balls fair. Once again we lost this game, but our last game was okay but, we lost once again, but I’m glad I’m on the Texas Stars!

I also play softball, I have been to the world series three times, first time we won first place and second and third we got second. The world series was in California, at first my mom didn’t want me going because i am only 13, and she said its way too far from Ohio, witch is where I live, but she let me go. So I am saying stick to softball its really fun and you can make a life for yourself:)
